  • Gianna O'Connor '21

I intern at The New York League of Conservation Voters, a non-partisan statewide nonprofit organization that fights for clean air, clean water, renewable energy, and open space through various political organizations. It is truly an organization that intertwines environmental advocacy with political action.

Gianna makes use of her double major in Urban & Environmental Sustainability and Politics & Human Rights with an internship at the New York League of Conservation Voters.

“The New York League of Conservation Voters is a non-partisan, pragmatic statewide nonprofit organization that fights for clean air, clean water, renewable energy, and open space through various political organizations. The NYLCV also evaluates the performance of elected officials, endorses environmentally-friendly candidates, and campaigns for specific legislation and candidates. It is truly an organization that intertwines environmental advocacy with political action. As an intern in the Development Department, I research foundations and organizations that are/will be donors in order to gain financial support for our agenda. I also help organize private events for our donors, such as the Spring Gala with over 800 guests. Overall, my work focuses on the citizens and foundations that support the NYLCV in order to provide the financial foundation that will further develop our environmental advocacy agenda.”
