Professor Amit K Bhattacharyya holds a Ph.D. in Population from Brown University and has extensive research and teaching experience in many countries of the world. He was an International Civil Servant and worked professionally at the United Nations most of his adult life. He has written numerous books and articles addressing issues of Population and Poverty as it relates to the weakest section of the society. He is fully conversant with the United Nations, its history, culture, and its role in the world. He has retired from the United Nations and is currently a visiting fellow at Marymount Manhattan College.
