“The Business Division at MMC provided me with the skills necessary to succeed in graduate school and pursue my international marketing career. The Business Faculty supported me throughout my college journey while studying abroad and offering opportunities to gain further experience. Being taught by passionate professors with diverse industry experience in small classes enables students to challenge their perspectives, learn from others and succeed. The Business program’s flexibility allows students to explore various interests while gaining essential business knowledge.”

Taylor Weg ’21, a graduating Business major with a concentration in Advertising and Promotion, has been accepted into the prestigious International Marketing and Digital Marketing master’s programs at King’s College London, as well as the Marketing program at Queen Mary University of London.

Weg, who studied abroad in London for a year at the Westminster Business School, chose to return to the UK for her master’s studies at King’s College to strengthen her marketing skills and apply them in an international environment.

As a student abroad, she gained invaluable experience collaborating with global teams and learning from students’ and professors’ various perspectives. While in London, Weg interned at Tzedek, a global nonprofit organization which aims to alleviate poverty and promote justice. She produced communications deliverables for volunteers, future staff, and trustees on the organization’s mission, as well as developed social media guidelines, graphic layouts, and content to improve Tzedek’s branding strategy and global impact while working with teams in Ghana, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

At MMC, Weg served as the President of the Marymount Business Association (MBA), and worked to forge a strong connection between students, alumni, and the business community. She handled communications, oversaw social media, and coordinated events with MMC alumni and professionals across various industries. On top of it all, Weg served as a Business Ambassador, managing the Business Division’s social media and communications with prospective and accepted students, leaving a lasting legacy for future Business majors.

“Marymount Manhattan College has provided a diverse and supportive community, an opportunity to explore various business specialties, and a committed faculty that provides ongoing advice and resources to create customized curriculum plans,” she says.

“Taylor embodies MMC’s mission,” says Vandana Rao, Ph.D., Chair of the Division of Business and one of Weg’s professors. “She is dedicated to academic excellence, passionate about using her learning to appreciate diverse cultures, and committed to finding solutions to alleviate global poverty.”
