Lennay Chapman, Assistant Professor of Marketing, is a Ph.D. candidate in Marketing at The Graduate Center (CUNY) / Baruch College whose research interests include the impact of language on consumers’ impressions of brands, and the influence of store environmental factors on consumer behavior. She holds an MBA from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College, and a B.S. in International Fashion Merchandising Management from the Jay and Patty Baker School of Business at FIT. 

 Prior to joining MMC, Professor Chapman taught Marketing at Baruch College and spent ten years working in merchandise planning for retailers including Ascena Retail Group and Ross Stores. In 2018, she was instrumental in the launch of the ecommerce channel of Ann Taylor Factory, a division of Ascena Retail Group. Professor Chapman also worked as a free-lance researcher and writer for The Motley Fool, conducting analysis and publishing articles on the financial performance of specific retailers. 

 As an MBA student, Professor Chapman was awarded the Paul Chook fellowship, and as an undergraduate student she received FIT’s Baker and Presidential scholarships. At MMC, Professor Chapman teaches business and marketing courses including Marketing Research, Retail Management and Digital Marketing.
