Art has always been a significant part of my life, from when I was young, doodling for hours, to the present day where I use a variety of mediums and technical skills for positive expressions. I have always been passionate about the symbolic and emotional nature of art. Toward this goal, I have earned a double major in Video Production and TV/Film Studies with a double minor in Graphic Design and Digital/Film Photography. Themes I like to communicate involve the freedoms we have as people. Whether the expressions are illustrative or abstract, I intend for them to be transformative, taking the viewer out of reality for a moment of bliss. Thank you for taking the time to view my portfolio. I hope you enjoy my work as much I enjoy creating it.

As a child, I constantly found joy and comfort in fantasy media. It was my passion. Inspired by the artists whose work I loved growing up, including the Hildebrandts, Tony DiTerlizzi, and Brian Froud, I am motivated to create work that brings that same excitement to children and young people as my heroes’ work brought me. In my recent experience teaching art, I’ve seen firsthand the importance of imagination; I strive to create art that nurtures that critical part of the human psyche. My college pursuits in Studio Art and Illustration & Animation have helped me further my skills and fostered an even deeper love for what I do. I look forward to pursuing a career in illustration and art education, where I will be able to not only fulfill the dreams of my childhood, but perhaps also bring some happiness and imagination to someone else’s childhood.

I look to make art that speaks for itself and is continuously evolving and addressing art for itself as well as culture and social issues. I am a filmmaker who also excels in editing, directing, screenwriting, and designing. I intend to bring these skill sets launch my career.

The most exciting aspect of creating art to me is the stories I get to tell through different mediums. My creative passions include illustration, animation, photography, cartooning, acting, design, writing, and filmmaking. Through encouraging teachers and fortuitous opportunities, I have grown confident in my abilities and am eager to use those abilities to give back to the community. My dream is to use whatever creative medium I can to instill a positive impact on individuals, communities, and the world.

Drawing caused me trouble in my youth because I would be drawing rather than doing my school work. Early on I began experimenting with technology. This lead me to study video editing, illustration, digital imaging, 2 and 3D animation, therefore earning a BFA in Graphic Design from MMC. I Iook forward to applying my talents and skills to novelty popular culture.

As an artist and aspiring animator, I have an admiration for everything that goes into the animation process. While animation is the collaboration of numerous parts to make the illusion work, what I consider to be the most intricate is what goes into animating a character— drawing the subtleties of expression and body language that turn a series of drawings into a believable person. I’ve seen it said before that when you are animating you are not making a picture move, but creating a performance; this is something I hope to achieve through my work be it animation itself or still images such as storyboards. I intend by my BFA in Animation and Illustration to launch my career.

Using my hands has been an integral form of self-expression. I feel best when I can take ideas, memories, and feelings and translate them into visual statements. I have explored many mediums and avenues, including architecture, set design, various studio arts, and art history, but graphic design has maintained a constant throughout my life. I have received a double major in both Graphic Design and Art History from Marymount Manhattan College intending to continue these practices. I find that I am most productive and inspired by the natural world. Art has helped me attain new perspectives and relationships between my environment and my work, and I hope to continue to not only make these parallels for myself but help others find these parallels as well.

Worldbuilding is my passion. My creativity traverses 2-D animation and the written word.

Sourced in storytelling, I intend to construct and animate through language and form narratives that will transform and subvert the illustration and animation industry. I include in this portfolio two capstone animations I completed for my BFA in Communication Arts at Marymount Manhattan College. I imagine a visionary future.

Several mediums inspire my research; graphic design, fine art, photography, video, and architecture. Ever since I was a little girl learning English – Polish being my first language – I used art when I couldn’t use my words. I expressed myself through drawing, painting, and being creative. I excelled in these pursuits and followed this path through college majoring in Communication Arts with a minor in Graphic Design. These experiences led to knowledge, new perspectives, and skillsets. Wherever the path next leads, I am confident I will create something beautiful.

Since I was in elementary school, I have been eagerly interested in illustration. After attending college, I broadened my passions by studying graphic design and animation. My major in graphic design and minor in illustration and animation has allowed me to master software technologies and analog skill sets. Equally, I acquired new perspectives inspired by both history and mainstream media. I intend to work in an industry where I can pursue character design and illustrative work that revolve around imagination and fantastical narratives.
